Poker is a popular card game that can be played by two to seven players. Traditionally, the player who has the best hand wins the pot. There are various variants of poker, but all share certain essential features.

There are many different ways to play Poker, but the most common is Texas Hold ‘Em. In Texas Hold ‘Em, you begin the game by “buying in” with a small amount of money called an ante. Once everyone has an ante, the dealer deals two cards to each player.

These cards are kept secret from the other players. Once the dealer has done this, you can choose to fold, match their bet, or raise your ante by adding more chips to the betting pool.

The dealer then deals out the next set of cards to all the players. Each player will have two cards, and they must decide whether to bet or not.

The first player to make a bet must place the number of chips (representing money) that he believes is his total contribution to the pot, if he does not win the hand, his chips are lost. He may call or he may raise, but the amount of his bet must not exceed the total of the player before him.
