A card game that requires a lot of raw technical skill to play optimally. It involves minimizing losses with poor hands and winning more than your opponents with good ones. Poker may seem like a game of pure luck but it’s really just as much of a competitive skill game as any other, in the long run the best players will win.<\/p>\n
The first betting round is called the Preflop and all players still in the hand get to bet. After the first round of betting the dealer puts three cards face up on the table that everyone can use, this is called the flop. Once the flop is dealt the second betting round begins.<\/p>\n
This is where the players begin to evaluate their own hands and compare them to the other players’. Reading other players is one of the most important aspects of Poker. This doesn’t necessarily have to be subtle physical tells (such as scratching your nose or playing nervously with your chips) but it can include any type of pattern.<\/p>\n
Position is very important in Poker because it gives you more information than your opponent. It also allows you to make cheap and effective bluffs. Having last action means you can control the final pot size by raising your bets before other players act. This is called maximizing your “bluff equity.” The fourth and final betting round is called the River which will reveal the fifth community card on the board.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
